Procedure of Kuja Rahu Sandhi Shanti.
The ritual begins with Sankalpam, naming the individual and their planetary positions, followed by Ganapathi Pooja, Navagraha Shanti, and Kalasha Sthapana. Special emphasis is placed on Mars and Rahu, where mantras like Angaraka Beej Mantra and Rahu Beej Mantra are chanted. Offerings of red sandalwood, red cloth, mustard seeds, and nine types of grains are made into the homa fire to pacify Mars and Rahu energies.
The priest performs Havan (Homam) by chanting powerful mantras from the Angaraka Sukta and Rahu Shanti hymns. Poornahuti is then offered to complete the ritual, and prasadam/theertham is distributed to the devotee. The ritual concludes with donations to Brahmins and feeding of cows or animals as per tradition. This helps balance fiery karmic tendencies and brings protection during turbulent astrological transitions.
