Aksharabhyasam is very important event in child, which is given initiation for his education. After finishing this the child is ready to receive formal education. The devotees believe that doing Aksharabhyasam at Basara Temple on special festivals or on special days like Basant Panchami, Sri Panchami, Vijaya Dashami, Sravana Pournami, Akshaya Tritiya, Ekadashi, Rathasapthami, Ugadi, Gudi Pudwa, will be more effective. Few people distribute slates, chalks, pencil, pens, to small children.
Pooja Procedure
Aksharabhyasam is performed at home and mostly in temple, it is made on special days or as well as normal according to the Muhurtham. Pooja related materials should be carried compulsory they are 1kg rice, turmeric, Kumkum, slate, chalks, coconut, flowers, etc., The Pundit begin the pooja with the mantras, first Lord Ganesh pooja will be done next Goddess Saraswathi Devi pooja will be done and in plate of rice is placed and the parents take the child in their lap and make him to write the first letters such as “OM” or “OM NAMA SHIVAYA”. Guidelines:

Should have latest devices which support GoToMeeting & Install from Play Store/Web.
Should have proper Audio output such as Bluetooth Speakers / Sound Boxes and device should be in landscape mode.
Should have the Video Camera device minimum 3-4 feet distance far from the Puja area.
Puja premises should be visible clearly to Pandit ji while performing the puja to guide properly.
By default should be in mute mode & can unmute yourself whenever required.
Take necessary precautions to avoid background noise such as traffic, house related sounds & TV etc.
If your video stuck at any point of time due to poor connectivity / low band width, requesting to rejoin again.
Should ready with all necessary puja items 15-30mins before the puja start.
