శ్రద్ధేన దీయతే శ్రార్ధం అనగా శ్రద్ధతో చేసినదానికే శ్రార్ధం అని పేరు. పున్నామ నరకం (పూర్వ జన్మల కర్మ దోషం) వల్ల కలిగే దోషమును తొలగించుటకు శ్రార్ధ కర్మలు(Pitru Shraddha Karma) అనగా మాసికం(Masikam), తద్దినం(Taddinam Ceremony), సంవత్సరికము(Samvatsarikam), పితృ పక్షం(Pitru Paksha) వంటి కార్యక్రమములను తప్పక ఆచరించాలి.
ప్రధాన అంశములు :
- మనం సంవత్సర పర్యంతం చేసే కార్యక్రమముల చేత మృతులు ప్రేతరూపమును వదిలి పితృదేవతలు అగుదురు.
- మనకు ఒక మాసము వారికి ఒక దినము. కావునా నెల “మాసికము” తప్పక పెట్టవలయును.
- సంవత్సరం పర్యంతం మాసిక కార్యక్రమములు పూర్తి అయిన తరువాత సంవత్సరికము మరుసటి దినమున తిథి ప్రయోజనము తద్దినం (ఆబ్దికము)చేయవలెను.
- అక్కడనుంచి ప్రతి సంవత్సరము మృతి చెందిన “పితరులను” వారు గతించిన తిథి రోజున సంవత్సర తిథి / తద్దినమును చేయవలెను.
